Mikey Mathews: Rugby

Playing rugby you have to overcome a lot of difficulties. One of the difficulties that I have faced with my team is playing a team that was bigger than us. Rugby is a very physical sport, so they were going to beat us in the physical part. We had to out smart them. We didn’t want to keep tackling them because that would wear us down. We came up with a game plan. We had to spread them out and beat them with speed. As the captain of the team I had to take control of the game and help my teammates remember that size doesn’t always win games. Taking control of a team takes a lot of courage because if you make a mistake it feels like you let the team down.
