What is the TAP program?
The Technology Adoption Program (TAP) is designed to provide a consistent experience for customers partnering with Microsoft in obtaining real world customer feedback on Microsoft pre-release products. TAP is a corporate-wide framework that brings standardized naming, streamlined paperwork and consistent administration to field and product groups. It is also the foundation that Microsoft uses to pull customers from for future advisory councils. There are multiple variations of TAP:
Product Evaluation TAP (PE TAP)
Product Evaluation (PE) TAP which is aimed at companies that wish to preview software and provide feedback. There are also opportunities to take part in regular, structured activities and to test the product.
Partner TAP
The Partner TAP focuses on programmability and solution development for companies with IT developed business solutions or for Microsoft Partners (e.g., ISVs, Solution Integrators). It has limited space and requires a much high degree of involvement and commitment. For example, you must submit a proof of concept plan for a solution you want to build and deploy on the new products and commit to a business case to be used during launch.
